Product Description

Head Metallix 6 (Model #230008)
The Head Metallix 6 Tennis Racket traces its lineage to the incredibly successful 6 line of Head rackets and now has the new Metallix Technology. HEAD's newest technology features alloys grain which is 1,000 times smaller than that of a typical metal. The decreased grain size means increased performance, or, as the Hall-Petch Effect states: smaller grains = stronger material. The result is a lighter, stronger and more powerful racquet than ever before.

This oversized racquet with its large sweetspot gives solid feel and touch. Great for players looking for power in a light, easy maneuverable racquet. The Metallix 6 has an open string pattern, which allows for enhanced spin and a larger sweetspot. The Head Metallix 6 Tennis Racquet.

Ideally suited for players with short, compact strokes. Recommended for the 3.0-4.5 NTRP level players.

HEAD Metallix: Made of a specially designed matrix of carbon fibers and a new crystalline metal alloy. This alloys grain size is 1,000 times smaller than that of a typical metal. The decreased grain size means increased performance, or, as te Hall-Petch Effect states: smaller grains = stronger material. The result is a lighter, stronger and more powerful racquet than ever before.

HEAD Stabilizer: Located in the throat of the racquet, the new HEAD Stabilizer eliminates racquet vibration and ensures the ultimate in comfort on every shot.

HEAD L.M.S.: By lowering the bridge section in a unique new throat design, HEAD's L.M.S. (Long Main String) design creates a larger hitting surface without increasing the size of the racquet. The player benefits from the larger sweet spot and better maneuverability.

The Metallix 6 is a very manuverable oversize racquet that holds up to hard hit shots without twisting inspite of it's light weight. I add a little lead tape to customize it just a bit. It goes through the air easily and feels good on the arm. I've tried other racquets but keep coming back to this one. USTA 4.0

The Metallix6 does indeed live up to the hype. I am a casual tennis player who just wanted a little more control and a little more power. This does exactly that while looking extremely fresh and futuristic on the court. I cant say this is the right one for pro's but for average joe's its right on.

I have used the Head Metallix 6 racquet for several years and have been very pleased. As a 4.0 player, the racquet provides solid volleys and good control. For an all court player with average swing speed, this Head Metallix 6 is a good choice. The Do It Tennis staff was very helpful in helping me select the proper string and tension when I reordered a racquet recently.

For anyone out there that likes an oversize with great spin and more control, this is the racket I swear by. Dont let the year fool you, (2006) this is a winner for doubles play and crafty singles play.

Excellent frame for controllable power and comfort. It's quick at net and holds up well against power shots inspite of it's light weight. There's no twisting on offcenter shots and racquet head speed is easy to generate on serves.
